Description
Learn how to make delicious air fryer roasted asparagus with Parmesan. This quick and easy recipe delivers crispy, tender asparagus spears in under 10 minutes, perfect as a weeknight side dish or an elegant addition to any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 pound), trimmed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional garnish: lemon wedges, extra Parmesan, or fresh parsley
Instructions
- Trim the asparagus spears by bending them gently until they snap near the bottom, separating the tender part from the woody stem. Use one spear as a guide to cut the rest at the same spot.
- In a bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the seasoned asparagus spears in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding, which prevents crisping.
- Air fry for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The asparagus should be slightly crisp at the tips and tender when pierced with a fork.
- Remove the asparagus from the air fryer and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese while still hot, allowing it to melt slightly.
- Garnish with lemon wedges, extra Parmesan, or fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh Parmesan cheese.
- Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of the asparagus spears.
- Serve immediately for optimal crispness and melted cheese.
