Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 egg (beaten)

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and dice the apples into small cubes, placing them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle granulated sugar and cinnamon over the apples, tossing to coat evenly; let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add apples and their juices, cooking until tender and slightly caramelized (about 8-10 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  5. Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut each into four squares.
