A delightful twist on classic dessert combining the flavors of apple pie and soft cake, perfect for autumn gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups peeled and sliced apples
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Stir in the sliced apples and cinnamon, cooking until the apples are tender.
- Pour the apple mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the apples in the baking pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes, then invert onto a serving plate to serve.
Notes
Pair with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent experience. Experiment with different apple varieties or add nuts for texture.
