Ingredients
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
1 cup fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup balsamic glaze
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1 tbsp honey for extra sweetness
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients: Start by hulling and slicing the strawberries into thin rounds. If you are using mozzarella balls, you can leave them whole or halve them if they are large.
Layer the Salad: On a serving platter, arrange the sliced strawberries and mozzarella balls alternately. Tuck whole basil leaves in between the layers for a beautiful presentation.
Drizzle with Balsamic: Generously drizzle balsamic glaze over the strawberries and mozzarella. If you love a hint of sweetness, add a drizzle of honey at this stage.
Add Olive Oil: Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the top for richness and depth of flavor.
Season: Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to enhance the flavors.
Serve & Enjoy: This dish can be served immediately or chilled for about 20 minutes for flavors to meld. Enjoy as a fresh appetizer, light lunch, or side dish!
