Description
A delicious breakfast croissant sandwich filled with eggs, cheese, and bacon, perfect for a morning treat.
Ingredients
- 2 large croissants
- 2 large eggs
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 slices cooked bacon
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to warm the croissants later.
- Place a skillet or frying pan over medium heat and allow it to warm up for about 1-2 minutes.
- Crack the eggs into a small bowl, being careful not to break the yolks.
- Whisk the eggs with a fork until the yolks and whites are fully combined.
- Add the butter to the warm skillet and let it melt, swirling it around to coat the bottom of the pan.
- Pour the beaten eggs into the skillet, spreading them evenly across the surface.
- Let the eggs cook for 1-2 minutes without stirring, allowing the edges to set.
- Using a spatula, gently lift the edges of the eggs and tilt the pan to let any uncooked egg flow to the edges.
- Once the eggs are fully set, sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly over them.
- Fold the eggs in half or into quarters, depending on the size of your skillet.
- Carefully remove the eggs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
- Slice the croissants in half horizontally, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Place the croissant halves on a baking sheet, cut side up, and bake them in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, until they are warm and slightly crispy.
- While the croissants are warming, spread the mayonnaise evenly on the cut side of the bottom half of each croissant.
- Spread the Dijon mustard evenly on the cut side of the top half of each croissant.
- Once the croissants are warm, remove them from the oven and place a slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.
- Layer a slice of cooked bacon on top of the cheese on each croissant.
- Carefully place the cooked eggs on top of the bacon.
- Place the top halves of the croissants onto the assembled ingredients, pressing down gently to hold everything together.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the sandwich with additional ingredients like avocado or spinach.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon and add more vegetables.
