Description

A hearty, family-friendly, and delicious cheesy ravioli bake that’s perfect for busy weeknights. This comfort food classic features layers of ravioli, savory marinara sauce, seasoned ground beef, wilted spinach, and melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • ½ cup half and half
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 20 oz refrigerated ravioli, uncooked
  • Fresh basil leaves to garnish
  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, and cook in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, chili flakes, and diced onion. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Drain any excess grease.
  5. Spread ¾ cup marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  6. Stir the remaining marinara sauce, half and half, and baby spinach into the skillet and remove from heat after 2 minutes.
  7. Layer half of the ravioli in the casserole dish, top with half of the sauce mixture, and sprinkle with ½ cup mozzarella.
  8. Repeat layers with remaining ravioli and sauce. Finish with the remaining mozzarella.
  9. Cover and bake for 35 minutes.
  10. Uncover and broil for 1-2 minutes to brown the cheese. Garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, season ground beef with salt and pepper.
  • Adjust red chili flakes to your spice preference.
  • Ensure spinach is fresh for best texture and color.
  • Allow the bake to rest for 5 minutes before slicing for easier handling.
  • This Cheesy Ravioli Bake can be prepared ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
