Description

A creamy and flavorful Chicken Florentine recipe featuring tender chicken breasts in a rich sauce with fresh spinach.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Chicken Breasts (Substitute with chicken thighs or tofu if desired)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (For a lighter option, use half-and-half or plant-based cream)
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated for the best flavor; can replace with Pecorino Romano or nutritional yeast)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (Minced for flavor)
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth (Used to deglaze the skillet)
  • 4 cups Spinach (Fresh preferred; if using frozen, thaw and drain well)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (Enhances flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (Optional, adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat and add the chicken breasts. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth to deglaze the skillet, scraping up any browned bits.
  4. Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the spinach and cook until wilted.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it with the sauce.
  8. Season with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, adjusting to taste.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
  • Serve with pasta or rice for a complete meal.
