Description
A creamy and flavorful Chicken Florentine recipe featuring tender chicken breasts in a rich sauce with fresh spinach.
Ingredients
- 4 pieces Chicken Breasts (Substitute with chicken thighs or tofu if desired)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (For a lighter option, use half-and-half or plant-based cream)
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated for the best flavor; can replace with Pecorino Romano or nutritional yeast)
- 4 cloves Garlic (Minced for flavor)
- 1 cup Chicken Broth (Used to deglaze the skillet)
- 4 cups Spinach (Fresh preferred; if using frozen, thaw and drain well)
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (Enhances flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (Optional, adjust to taste)
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat and add the chicken breasts. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth to deglaze the skillet, scraping up any browned bits.
- Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the spinach and cook until wilted.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it with the sauce.
- Season with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, adjusting to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
- Serve with pasta or rice for a complete meal.
