Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 can (15 oz) pitted cherries, drained
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cherry juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and cherry juice, then pour it into the bottom of a greased cake pan.
  3. Arrange the drained cherries over the sugar mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  6. In another bowl, combine the flour and cocoa powder.
