Description

Ingredients

3 chicken breasts

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

45 cloves garlic, minced

1 onion, finely chopped

Juice of 1 lemon

1 cup chicken broth or water


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken
    Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. Sear the Chicken
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    Add chicken breasts and sear 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
    Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. Sauté the Aromatics
    In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
    Add garlic and onion, cooking for about 5 minutes until soft and fragrant.

  4. Create the Sauce
    Pour in lemon juice and chicken broth. Stir and scrape any browned bits from the pan.
    Simmer for 5 minutes to reduce slightly.

  5. Combine and Cook
    Return the chicken to the skillet.
    Spoon sauce over the top and simmer on low for 5–10 minutes until warmed through and sauce thickens slightly.

  6. Serve
    Garnish with fresh herbs (optional). Serve hot with sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or veggies.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, add 1/4 cup heavy cream or a spoon of crème fraîche to the sauce.

  • Deglaze the pan well to incorporate all the rich, seared flavor.

  • Add fresh herbs like thyme or parsley for an herbal note.

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally.
