Description

Make creamy garlic chicken pasta with tender chicken, rich sauce, and al dente pasta. A perfect comfort food recipe in under 45 minutes.


Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced or cubed)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Pasta & Sauce:

  • 8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or reserved pasta water)

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  • Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside. Reserve ½ cup pasta water.

  • Season the chicken with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  • Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook 4–6 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Remove from pan.

  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Add heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Stir in Parmesan, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce thicken slightly (about 2–3 minutes).

  • Return chicken to the skillet. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

 

  • Serve warm, topped with fresh parsley and more Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce texture.

  • Avoid boiling the cream—simmer gently to prevent curdling.

  • Don’t overcook chicken—it should be just done to stay juicy.

  • Use pasta water to adjust sauce consistency naturally.

  • Add-ins like spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, or mushrooms can boost nutrition and flavor.

 

  • Leftovers reheat best on the stovetop with a splash of milk or broth.
