  • Author: YOUSSEF litim
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes (plus 10-minute rest time)
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef (80/20 recommended)

1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix

2 large eggs

3/4 cup plain dry breadcrumbs

3/4 cup water or milk

1/3 cup ketchup (plus more for topping if desired)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with foil.

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion soup mix, eggs, breadcrumbs, water (or milk), and ketchup.

  • Mix until just combined—avoid overmixing for a tender loaf.

  • Shape into a loaf and place in the prepared pan or on the baking sheet.

  • Optional: Spread additional ketchup on top for a sweet glaze.

  • Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  • Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Use ground beef with a little fat for juicier meatloaf.

  • Don’t overmix the meat—this can make the loaf tough.

  • Letting the meatloaf rest before slicing keeps it moist.

  • Add shredded veggies (carrots, zucchini) for moisture and nutrition.

  • Want a crispy outside? Bake it free-form on a sheet pan instead of in a loaf pan.

  • Prep Time: 10minutes
  • Cook Time: 60minutes
