Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
  • ½ cup pesto
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Parmesan cheese (grated, for topping)
  • Optional: pine nuts or walnuts (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into tree shapes.
  4. Spread pesto evenly on the pastry shapes.
  5. Layer and stack the pieces to form trees.
  6. Brush the edges with beaten egg.
  7. Sprinkle with salt and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  9. Garnish with nuts, if desired.

Notes

For a sweet version, try using a chocolate hazelnut spread instead of pesto. Serve with dipping sauces for added flavor.
