Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Optional seasonings (e.g., herbs, garlic powder)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend the cottage cheese and egg yolks until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the egg whites into the cottage cheese mixture.
  5. Add salt, baking powder, and any optional seasonings, folding until just combined.
  6. Scoop the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 4-6 rounds.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the bread is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
