Description
Soft, fluffy garlic bread rolls that are a delightful twist on classic garlic bread, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1 beaten egg (for brushing the tops)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for topping)
- Flaky sea salt (for finishing)
Instructions
- Lightly butter the bottom and sides of a 9×13 pan and set aside.
- In a small pot, melt 4 1/2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and add 2 tablespoons of minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant. Remove from heat and cool.
- In a stand mixing bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon of flour, 3 tablespoons of parsley, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 2 1/4 teaspoons of yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Add the warmed milk, 1 egg, and the garlic butter mixture. Knead on low speed for 10-12 minutes.
- Cut the kneaded dough into 12 equal portions, shape into smooth balls, and place in the prepared pan. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg wash. Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the garlic butter topping with the remaining butter, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and parsley.
- Brush the baked rolls with garlic butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Serve warm.
Notes
Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days or freeze for longer storage.
