Description

Make juicy garlic butter shrimp in just 20 minutes! A quick, flavorful seafood dish perfect for dinner, meal prep, or entertaining.

Ingredients

    • 1 lb (450g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

    • 4 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or cilantro

    • Lemon wedges, for serving

    Optional Add-ins:

    • 2 tablespoons white wine

    • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

    • Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the shrimp with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Melt 2 tablespoons butter with olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant, but not browned.

  4. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

  5. Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons butter, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  6. Toss to coat the shrimp in the garlic butter sauce.

  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor—avoid pre-minced jarred garlic.

  • Do not overcook the shrimp—they only need 1–2 minutes per side.

  • Thaw frozen shrimp completely and pat dry to avoid excess moisture.

  • Deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine for deeper flavor.

  • Serve immediately for the best texture and taste.
