Description

Grilled Hot Dog Kabobs are a fun and easy dish perfect for summer cookouts.


Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs, quartered into 4 pieces each
  • 1 small red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 cups pineapple, cubed (1-inch)
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  1. If using wooden/bamboo skewers, soak them in water for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Slice hot dogs into quarters and cut onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and pineapple into 1-inch pieces.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high.
  4. Thread the skewers by alternating red pepper, green pepper, hot dog, onion, and pineapple. Repeat until the skewer is full.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili powder.
  6. Oil the grill grates well, brush sauce over the skewers, then grill, flipping every couple of minutes and basting with more sauce, until charred, about 8 minutes.
  7. Remove from the grill and serve with your favorite BBQ sides.
