Description

Make heavenly donuts in just 5 minutes! Crispy, fluffy, and sugar-coated—perfect for quick breakfasts or sweet cravings anytime.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

  • Sugar or cinnamon sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: In a deep skillet or pot, heat about 1.5 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Make the batter: In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients—don’t overmix.

  3. Fry the donuts: Using a spoon or small scoop, drop small portions of batter into hot oil. Fry 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.

  4. Drain and coat: Remove with a slotted spoon, place on paper towels, and immediately roll in sugar or cinnamon sugar.

  5. Serve: Enjoy warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the pan—work in small batches to keep oil temperature stable.

  • Don’t overmix the batter—it makes the donuts tough.

  • Use a thermometer if possible to maintain 350°F oil temperature.

  • Test the oil with a small drop of batter if no thermometer is available—it should sizzle and rise.

  • Best served fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven or air fryer for a crisp texture.
