Ingredients
For the Sandwich
2 slices bread preferably white or brioche
1 tablespoon butter softened
2 slices ham cooked
2 slices Gruyère cheese or any melting cheese
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
For the Topping
1 large egg
1 pinch salt
1 pinch black pepper freshly ground
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Spread Dijon mustard on the unbuttered sides of the bread.
Layer ham and Gruyère cheese on each piece of bread.
Bake for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cheese has melted.
Fry the egg in a skillet until the white is set but the yolk remains runny.
Top your baked sandwich with the fried egg, season with salt and black pepper, and serve immediately.
