Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Marinate the flank steak in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Grill or pan-sear the steak over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  4. Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
  5. In a separate pot, steam the broccoli and carrots until tender.
  6. To assemble, place a serving of rice in a bowl, top with sliced steak, steamed vegetables, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
