Ingredients
- 1 cup All-purpose Flour
- 1 cup Yellow Cornmeal
- 1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 8 pieces Cocktail Wieners
- 4 oz Cheddar Cheese
- 2 cups Oil for Frying
- 8 pieces Toothpicks
Instructions
- Cut each cocktail wiener in half lengthwise. Place a piece of cheddar cheese inside each half and secure with a toothpick.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, yellow cornmeal, baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, eggs, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot to 325-350°F.
- Dip each prepared wiener in the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place into the hot oil.
- Fry the mini corn dogs in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the mini corn dogs from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
