Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Orange Glazed Salmon that combines the flavors of citrus with tender salmon fillets.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • Sliced green onions and orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Place the salmon fillets in the pan, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the salmon from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium and add the orange juice, honey, soy sauce, orange zest, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  5. Pour in the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return the salmon fillets to the pan, spooning the orange glaze over the top of each piece.
  7. Allow the salmon to heat back up for an additional 2-3 minutes, coating with glaze as needed.
  8. Serve the salmon garnished with sliced green onions and orange slices for an appealing presentation.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables or rice.
