Description

This Peach Crisp features fresh peaches baked with a buttery crumble topping.


Ingredients

  • 8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar, organic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 cups all purpose flour, unsifted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and brown sugar. Add 1 cup of butter and mix on low speed until crumbly.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk sugar, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon together and set aside.
  3. Peel and slice peaches. Put in a large bowl.
  4. Mix in sugar mixture and stir until peaches are coated well.
  5. Pour fruit mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish or a 3 quart baking dish.
  6. Add the remaining ¼ cup butter (sliced) and just place on top of the fruit mixture randomly.
  7. Add the flour mixture on top of fruit and spread evenly.
  8. Bake uncovered at 400° for 45-55 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  • Adjust sugar based on peach sweetness.
  • Serve with ice cream for extra flavor.
