  • Author: YOUSSEF litim
  • Total Time: 30 minutes (including cooling)
  • Yield: Approximately 20–24 sandwich crackers

Ingredients

For the crackers:

1 cup all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed

1/4 cup water (more if needed)

For the peanut butter filling:

1/2 cup natural peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)

12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)

Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  • Add water gradually, stirring until a firm dough forms.

  • Roll out the dough thinly and cut into desired shapes (squares, rounds, etc.).

  • Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Prick each cracker with a fork.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until lightly golden and crisp.

  • Let crackers cool completely.

  • Mix peanut butter with honey/maple syrup and a pinch of salt if desired.

  • Spread filling on half the crackers and sandwich with the remaining ones.

Notes

  • Roll the dough thin for maximum crunch.

  • Use a food processor for faster dough mixing.

  • Store unfilled crackers separately to keep them crisp longer.

  • Add spices or herbs (like garlic powder or rosemary) to the dough for savory twists.

  • For extra crunch, sprinkle sea salt or sesame seeds on top before baking.
