  • Author: YOUSSEF litim
  • Total Time: 15–30 minutes (including steeping)
  • Yield: Approximately 1 cup of syrup

Ingredients

1 cup water

1 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons dried organic rose petals (food-grade) — or 1 tablespoon rose water

Optional: 1–2 drops natural pink or red food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a gentle boil.

  2. Add the sugar and stir until fully dissolved.

  3. If using dried rose petals, add them and simmer for 5–7 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for 15–20 minutes.

  5. If using rose water, add it now instead of petals.

  6. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a clean bottle or jar.

  7. Let cool completely before sealing and refrigerating.

  8. Store refrigerated for up to 2–3 weeks.

Notes

  • Use organic, food-grade roses only (dried or fresh).

  • Add rose water or extract at the end to preserve aroma.

  • For deeper flavor, steep longer before straining.

  • A touch of lemon zest can add brightness.

  • Add 1 tsp of vodka as a natural preservative to extend shelf life.

  • Coloring is optional but helps create the iconic rose pink hue.

  • Pairs well with lemonades, cocktails, cakes, and teas.
