Ingredients
- 2 pounds of beef (flank steak or sirloin)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes.
- Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the air fryer to 160°F (70°C).
- Remove the beef from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels.
- Place the beef strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 2-3 hours, checking for doneness and flipping the strips halfway through.
- Once the jerky is dry and chewy, remove it from the air fryer and let it cool.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For a spicier jerky, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- Make sure to slice the beef against the grain for a more tender texture.
