Description
Delightful mini pies filled with tender ground beef, sweet potatoes, and aromatic seasonings, wrapped in golden flaky pastry.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
- Stir in diced sweet potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until sweet potatoes are tender.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each circle. Fold and seal the edges.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
These mini pies freeze well. Allow to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. Reheat in the oven for convenience.
