Description

Delightful mini pies filled with tender ground beef, sweet potatoes, and aromatic seasonings, wrapped in golden flaky pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in diced sweet potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until sweet potatoes are tender.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each circle. Fold and seal the edges.
  6. Brush with beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

These mini pies freeze well. Allow to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. Reheat in the oven for convenience.
