Description

A quick and easy recipe for delicious hibachi-style zucchini, bringing restaurant-quality flavor to your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium zucchinis
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (minced)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice zucchinis into batons (½-inch by 2-3 inches). Cut onion into half-inch segments.
  2. Preheat a sauté pan or wok on medium-high. Add vegetable oil and wait for a shimmer.
  3. Toss in the onions and stir-fry for about 2 minutes until slightly translucent.
  4. Stir in garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
  5. Add zucchini and let sit undisturbed for 1 minute. Continue cooking for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and sesame seeds. Stir well and cook for 1 more minute.

Notes

Pat the zucchini dry before cooking to achieve a perfect sear. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
