1 cup tomato paste

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup brown sugar (or honey)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice (optional)

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon sriracha or favorite hot sauce

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, minced (optional for smoky flavor)


Instructions

  • Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, whisk together all ingredients until smooth.

  • Simmer: Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer.

  • Cook: Reduce heat and let simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring often, until thickened.

  • Cool: Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
