2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded parmesan cheese

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: garlic powder, paprika, crushed red pepper, dried thyme

Notes

  • Use sweet onions like Vidalia for the best mellow flavor.

  • Add crushed crackers or breadcrumbs during the final bake for crunch.

  • Sauté onions briefly first if you want deeper caramelized flavor.

  • Try cheese variations like Gruyère, Pepper Jack, or Fontina for a twist.

  • Make ahead by assembling in advance and baking when ready to serve.
