Description

This Tzatziki Sauce is a refreshing and creamy dip made with yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and fresh herbs. It’s perfect as a dip for vegetables, a topping for grilled meats, or a spread for sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 1 large cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Squeeze excess water from the grated cucumber using a cheesecloth or paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, chopped mint, and lemon juice.
  3. Stir in the olive oil.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a thicker tzatziki sauce, strain the Greek yogurt for a few hours before making the sauce.
  • You can substitute dried dill and mint if fresh herbs are not available, but use less.
  • Adjust garlic and lemon juice to your preference.
